The star chart is optional for a more rustic looking flag. If desired, sew star buttons to the blue field using the Old Glory diagram for placement (each square on the diagram equals one inch/2.5 cm for a field measuring 22” (56 cm) wide and 23” (58.5cm) tall in stated gauge). When working from the chart, read all even-numbered (wrong side) rows from left to right.
