Here’s a cute gift bag for that special person in your life or just a pretty bag to hold your odds and ends. The Old Spruce gift bag design is dedicated to all the beautiful trees growing on our planet Earth, but especially to a 9,550-year-old spruce tree growing in the region of Dalarna in Sweden. That’s one tough tree!
This little drawstring bag is made using the tapestry crochet technique which only requires sc and ch stitches (US terms). The pattern includes written instructions and charts as well as plenty of photos to help you learn the tapestry crochet technique.
Skill level: advanced beginner to intermediate
Pattern details: Two PDF files are included: instructions and a graph. Please choose landscape mode when printing the graph PDF.
Yarn: Any fingering/4ply cotton yarn. About 20g of the main color and 10g each of the contrast colors. You can also use sport weight yarn for a slighty bigger bag. I used Scheepjes Catona. Please note that this is an estimated amount only. If your crochet style and gauge differ, you might need more yarn.
Hook: 2 - 2,5 mm hook depending on your yarn and tension.
Size: The bags shown here are approximately 9x14cm (3,5x5,5 inches)
The pattern has been tested and checked for errors, however, please do not hesitate to let me know if you find a mistake.
