Alternate top chart also has an extra MC stitch all through the decreases, because it incorrectly has the palm decreases starting before the back decreases. The decreases are correct on the main chart, refer to that for shaping.

Note that the blue mittens are altered. The original has a knitted cuff like the purple example.
