Oliver’s sweater is a loose fitted raglan sweater for small children.

The sweater is worked seamless from the top down.
The work starts with rib at the neck and afterward short-rows for a lowered neckline. The increases for yoke and sleeves create raglan lines. After finishing the yoke, the sleeves are separated on waste yarn, and the body is worked from the armholes to the hem in stockinette stitch and then a rib is worked before the bind off. Work the sleeves one at a time by putting the stitches back on the working needles and work in rounds with decreases to the cuffs. The cuffs are worked in rib before the bind off.

Note! Children are quite different in sizing, so it is recommended to measure an existing sweater that fits the child around body and armholes before deciding upon which size to work. The sweater might also show the preferred length of a sweater. Be aware that the sweater is meant to be worn with ease!

Gauge:
26 sts x 36 rounds in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4” on 3.0mm/US 2½ needles, after blocking
30 sts x 40 rounds over 10cm x 10cm/4” x 4” with 2.5mm/US 1½ needles in unstretched 1x1 rib
