Olivia
Olivia is the prettiest of ponchos, with a difference.
Cute cuffs make it far more practical than the traditional ‘free-flowing’ designs, but retains the lovely drape and comfort for which ponchos are renowned.
Simply shaped by columns of gently curving clusters and easy increases, Olivia works up quickly and the lovely lacy hem and drawstring provides those special finishing touches that little girls love.
Example designed for a 2-3yr old.
Neckline circumference: Up to 15inches/38cms
Hem circumference: Approximately 38 inches/96.5cms
Length down centre back: Approximately 11.5 inches/29cms
Size could be adjusted by different hook sizes and yarn weights..
Method:
The main body of Olivia is worked from the top down, in rounds and without any seaming. Once the body is complete, cuffs are added and are also worked in rounds. The decorative hem and neckline is then worked onto the body and finally the pretty corded drawstring and motifs are made and thread through the neckline. The only sewing required is to weave in the ends and attach the floral motifs to the drawstring.
