Knit in a fingering yarn. It has no negative ease at the full bust, and is available in sizes Small-5XL. Tentacles and background were knit using intarsia method, then the suckers, eyes, and head were added after the garment was seamed, using the double-stitch method. Double stitching twice over the suckers would create an almost
3-D effect. The front and back neckline are knit the same so it can be reversible. Model has 40” 101.5 cm bust and is wearing size large.
This pattern was the first time I had ever tried intarsia. But I had the idea, and just had to create it. Don’t underestimate yourself, you can do it! Just practice on a swatch or two, and I’m here if you have any questions.
Olivia arrived at our home with a very large front leg. She was put on antibiotics, with the hope of saving the leg. During this time, we discovered she had a cute little quirk. She was in the habit, every night, of pulling all of her toys and food bowl into bed with her. So when it came time to name this top, I pictured Olivia as an octopus, with all her tentacles, pulling toys and food into her den. Olivia had to have that leg amputated, but she recovered well and never lost her sweet disposition.
