The sweater is worked from the top down, casting on at the neck. First, the back piece is worked back and forth, then both shoulders are worked separately before they are joined to form a front piece. The bodice is worked in the round in stockinette stitches, and finished with working short rows to extend and round the back of the bodice before a double ribbed edge is worked. The sleeves are then worked, and finally stitches are picked up around the neck opening which are worked round in double rib, folded in and fastened from the inside. All ribbed edges are finished with double knitting and Italian cast off for a nice result.
The sizes are calculated based on a positive ease of approximately 32 cm, which you add to your own chest measurement. The pattern follows body measurements of:
80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) cm.
Example: If your bust measures 93 cm, add 32 cm = 125 cm. This is equivalent to a size M, which will give you a positive ease of 33 cm.
The model in the picture has a bust measurement of 83 cm (33 cm positive ease according to body measurement) and is wearing a size XS with a length of 63 cm measured mid back, and 41 cm measured mid front. Measurements excl. ribbed neck edge.
