Olsok
Olsok features leafy lace and lacy mock cables. It’s knitted in two pieces and grafted at the middle.
The motifs are charted only and the centre motif contains patterning on both the RS and WS. Although it may look complicated, it is straightforward if you know how to read your knitting.
The sample scarf was knitted in Bam-boozle 4-ply from Blacker Yarns. Bam-boozle’s sheen, drape, and stitch definition are a perfect match for this design. A kit is available on the Blacker Yarns website: https://www.blackeryarns.co.uk/product/olsok-shawl-projec...

Olsok is part of my series Primstaven, which was inspired by feast and festival days on traditional Norwegian stick calendars. In Norway, the festival of Olsok commemorates the death of St Olav, who was killed at the Battle of Stiklestad on 29 July 1030. Historically it was an important day for bringing in the hay. The weather on Olsok was also highly anticipated, as it was often used to predict conditions for the autumn and winter.
Thanks to my testers 3genknit, greendaygal, and Epiphyllum!
