ABOUT THE PATTERN

The pattern starts from the top of the head and works down, incorporating the arms and feet as you crochet. The accessories, hat and hair are then crocheted separately. There is some sewing required for attaching the eyes, hair and hat and a little simple embroidery for the mouth. I’ve provided options for either safety eyes or crocheted eyes. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, Eggy Tennis Player reaches a height of approximately 11cm. SKILL LEVEL

I have assigned an advanced beginner skill level to this pattern. While the majority of it involves simple stitches, there is some assembly required in sewing components together and a little embroidery for the mouth. Additionally, there are some trickier techniques which involve crocheting into the front or back loop only and the accessories are a little fiddly. However, these are all fully explained within the pattern.

Small amount of red (or chosen colour) for tennis racket
Tiny amount of green for tennis ball
Tiny amount of black for mouth and pupils if opting for crocheted eyes
2.5mm crochet hook
10mm Safety eyes or a small amount of black yarn if crocheting the eyes
