This half circle pi shawl takes its inspiration from the sandy shores of a distant beach. Starting with a bit of stockinette, representing the smooth sand as you step onto the beach, it quickly moves into the knot section, which brings to mind the shells, rocks, and bits of sea glass scattered across the sandy expanse. As you step closer to the water’s edge, the waves begin to drag the detritus back into the depths, leaving shallow holes in their wake, represented by the eyelet section. Finally, you are confronted by the cascading waves themselves, depicted by the generous feather and fan section which finishes off the shawl. The whole thing is rounded off with a neat and elegant i-cord bind off.
