On a Lark
If you like my Lark Song shawl, but are crunched for time, take a look at On a Lark! On a Lark is the cowl version of the Lark Song shawl with the same look, and can be crocheted in one afternoon. This easy-to-wear cowl has no ends to wrap and you just drop it over your head and go.
The stitch pattern for the body of the cowl is a simple mesh and the edging section is an interesting stitch pattern where one color dips down into the previous color.
I used the cushy soft Malabrigo Washted (210 yards/100 grams) for my On a Lark in the colors Heirloom Vegetables for color 1 and Natural for color 2. Washted is a single-ply worsted weight yarn that comes in the many beautiful hand-dyed colors that Malabrigo is known for.
Yardage needed: 265 yards total of worsted weight yarn, 210 yards for color 1 and 55 yards for color 2.
With three skeins of Washted you can make two cowls. Two skeins in the same color or two different colors for color 1, and one skein of a coordinating color, for color 2 for both cowls.
Because On a Lark is so quick to crochet, it is great for gifting!
