On Crooked Legs
Released in October 2014, Wings of Change was retired from individual sale in October 2024.
The Thunderbird legends of many cultures inspired the shape of this shawl. From the feathered shoulders great wings extend across the top edge, while a wide wedge tail separates the lower sides of the shawl. Between wings and tail extend multiple legs of lightning. Finally the border pattern is worked in an open lace representing the falling rain. The broad blunt tail creates a nicely rounded shape at the center of the shawl.
While beads are not called for in the pattern, they would make a lovely complement on the border of the shawl to reinforce the reference to rain.
At this time, the pattern is charted only.
