These socks use a unique construction method and are well suited to long dye repeats or hand painted yarn to create an eye catching sock.
They are also unique in that they are knit entirely back and forth (no knitting in the round) using short row shaping for the toe and a conventional heel construction with heel flap and Dutch (square) heel and gussets.
The use of Garter Stitch for leg and top of foot provides for stretch and a forgiving fit to accommodate a variety of foot, ankle or calf widths, for more staying power an optional ribbing can be added to top of leg. The bottom of the heel, sole, and toe are worked in Stockinette Stitch.
