On the Fly
As I was flying back to Seattle after visiting home at Christmas, I was working on a pair of socks. Or rather, the toe of a sock. I’d printed out a stitch pattern I had thought would work for the socks, but it was no good. So I’m left, 30,000 feet up in the air, with nary a sock pattern nor stitch dictionary in sight. But I’ve been knitting for a while, I should be able to make something up, I thought. So I did. These are the socks that developed while I was on the fly.
This pattern is designed for maximum flexibility. Use your favorite heel or toe! Knit from the top down or the bottom up! Use dpns or magic loop or two circs! I’ve written the pattern for my favorite construction method: toe up, magic loop, with a short row heel.
