Here is a soft play transport set for little ones, including an ambulance, fire truck, tractor, freight truck, tanker truck, bulldozer, steam roller and forklift. The pattern incorporates intarsia colour-work, and a little embroidery to add the finishing touches.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour.

Tapestry needle, toy filling, stitch markers and bobbins for intarsia.

One size only - 8cm to 13cm long.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
