On the Quad
This fitted pullover is built around a simple moss stitch square motif that highlights the color variation in the yarn. Each piece starts with a square motif, and the rest of the fabric is “filled in” around it, either by working directly from the live stitches of the square, or by using entrelac technique to work perpendicular to it. With this method, there are only a few short seams and no intermediate cast-off edges.
You have options for controlling how uniform you want the color pattern to be. You can start each square motif at the same place in the colorway to get matching squares. Or, as shown, you can start in a different place each time for an irregular color design.
Experience level/techniques: Advanced; familiarity with the following techniques is assumed: staying in pattern with increases and decreases, entrelac, grafting/kitchener stitch, short rows, knitting in the round.
