This is a very simple pattern which just requires some 4-ply sock yarn and a 3mm circular needle. I designed it because my husband and I are going on a long cycle tour through Europe and I wanted some simple knitting to take on the road.

This head and neck warmer is very versatile. It can be used as an open hat; folded in half as a head band; or be pulled over the head and used as a cowl.
It is ideal for runners, walkers and cyclists. I have road tested it. It fits under a cycling helmet and holds its shape well.

The pattern can also be knitted flat with a seam on the side. The size can easily be adapted by added and reducing stitches and rows. The pattern is also ideal for using up left-over yarn from previous projects.
