On the seashore

Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
The name is inspired by the Mendelssohn piece Op. 53, No. 1.
The cowl is knit in the round, laying more like a collar. By the placement of decreases, the one end of the cowl lays flatter and the other end stands up straight. The flat end is worn behind the neck.
The cowl starts with a cockleshell pattern to give it a delicate, curved look. This uses lace techniques.
The cowl is cast-off with an i-cord bind-off. This is described in the pattern.
The pattern only needs one ball of the Knit Picks Reverie. However, it uses almost the entire ball. If you are more cautious with your yardage, you may want to get an extra ball just in case.
