Imagine yourself sitting on your patio enjoying the autumn sunset with a glass of your favorite wine. Now, eventually the sun will set and the air will become a little chilly. What better way to prolong your enjoyment than with a pair of grapevine-inspired light-weight fingerless mitts? Once Upon a Vine are elbow-length fingerless mitts with two twisted-stitch cable motifs vining up the sides of the arms. Eventually the inside cable motif splits and crosses over the wrist to join the other cable. Not only does this provide a more tapered fit, it accentuates the beautiful contours of the wrist.

Note: This pattern is written for a smooth, elbow-length fingerless mitt. However, instructions and formula for a drop-stitch variation have been included if you wish to make a more distressed-looking pair of mitts. This allows you to add as many or as few as you want, or none at all. It’s all up to you!
