Ondine Jumper
The Ondine Jumper is designed to be fitted, with a classic body shape to let the ribbed cable pattern on the sleeves take the spotlight. This jumper can be knitted in one colourway or you can choose to add a gradient effect at the bottom of the sleeves for the extra wow-factor.
Pattern Information:
- This pattern has been independently tech-edited
- This pattern has been test-knitted
- Level: Intermediate - the most difficult technique is the twisted cables
CONSTRUCTION
The Ondine Jumper is knitted top-down and in the round after the front and back yokes have been worked flat.
The back yoke is worked first, then stitches are picked up along the shoulders to create the left and right front pieces. Both front pieces are knitted separately to form the v-neck shape until they are joined together with the back yoke to form the body.
The sleeves are picked up from the armhole opening and worked in the round.
Stitches are picked up along the neck opening and knitted in the round to form the double-folded collar.
Note: The pattern repeat on the sleeve is done over a fixed number of stitches, this means that for some sizes, the sleeves will not be as fitted as on the sample picture, so that a complete repeat of pattern can be achieved.
SIZES
The Ondine jumper is designed to have a recommended negative ease of:
-14 (-14, -14, -11, -8.5, -7.5, -5, -4) cm.
This can seem like a lot, but this will achieve a fitted, yet cosy look.
The model on the picture is wearing a size 3 and has a bust size of 101 cm.
Centimetres –
To fit a bust size of 80 (90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150) cm.
Finished bust measurement: 66 (76, 86, 99, 111.5, 122.5, 135, 146) cm.
Choosing a size guidance:
If you are in between two ‘bust sizes’ mentioned above, choose the bigger size to make sure the finished garment is comfortable to wear. For example: if your bust circumference is 105 cm, choose size 4 and you will have a negative ease of 6 cm (choosing a size 3 will mean the garment is more fitted than recommended).
