ONE HAT; Oh so many looks
This is a Pattern for a hat; also included are the instructions for knitted leaves, and two different knitted flowers. It is a favorite project because it “uses up”. Every week a group of my friends get together at my retired friend’s house; she was an art teacher. We make things from stashed yarn, old sweaters, fabrics, jewelry, buttons, ribbons, beads, you name it. Our motto is “Use it up/ wear it out/ make it do/ or do without”. We give each other ideas, support and encouragement . This hat is made with less than 100 yards of bulky yarn. It can be completed without ornament, or it can be jazzed up with old or broken jewelry, discarded buttons, beads and ribbon. It can be made in one color, or two or more colors. It is quick to knit up, and can be complete in the time it takes to watch two evening shows on tv, and at the cost of only 5 dollars. The hat can easily be adjusted to accommodate a child or man. I have a supply at home, so I am always ready to give a gift to a friend. It is versatile, useful, warm and stylish.
