One Hundred Forests
A simple and elegant cardigan featuring flattering front panels of cabled trees. A knitted ode to one of our family’s favourite places, the National Arboretum in Canberra, Australia. Opened in the 100th year since Canberra’s founding, the winning design for the Arboretum was titled ‘100 Forests and 100 Gardens’.
Construction Notes:
One Hundred Forests is worked from the bottom up in one piece, with front panels of a simple cable and twisted stitch pattern. The fronts and back are then work separately to the shoulders, and the sleeves are worked top-down and in the round using short rows to shape the sleeve cap. Finally, button bands and neckband are picked up and knit out.
Yarn Requirements:
You will need 4 (4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7) skeins of Augustbird Hearty DK and 4 (4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins of Augustbird White Gum Wool 8ply.
