This lace scarf can be knitted with any 50g of fingering/sock weight yarn. There are some wonderful yarns with beautiful colorways that come in 50g skeins. This scarf is knitted with 1/2 skein of KnitPicks Chroma fingering, which comes in 100g skeins.

The width of this scarf means that it is not a really long scarf, but it will wrap nicely once around your neck with enough length to tie a simple knot. The finished blocked scarf is 5.5”/14cm wide, 40”/102cm long.

The knitted lace pattern in the body of the scarf is not difficult, but the return rows do have mixed knit and purl stitches, and the border does have pattern on every row. The body is an 8 row repeat and the border is a 2 row repeat, so it soon becomes automatic. Because of the lace pattern I consider this an intermediate pattern but it could be tackled by an adventurous beginner.
