A quick, satisfying pattern to show off those one-off skeins of handspun with a delightfully warm and squishy wear-anywhere cowl.

Simple brioche rib texture works up well in handspun or your worsted-weight yarn of choice.

I don’t know about you, but since I’m such a sucker for buying single braids of gorgeous hand-dyed fiber for spinning, I’m always ending up with single skeins of handspun that I’m not quite sure what to do with. I made this as a simple way to showcase one skein of self-striping handspun that I really loved. It’s also a great introduction to brioche stitch if you haven’t tried it before.

It’s a fairly easygoing pattern; just dial in your circumference and keep knitting till you run out of yarn! I used one 100g skein of 2-ply worsted, a little over 200 yards.

Finished dimensions are 21” around and 8” high.

Because brioche stitch is typically knit flat, I included a 1 stitch selvedge on each side for easy seaming.
