The One-Skein Shawl was designed as a small and quick project that can be done with one 100 g skein with approximately 400 m of yarn. There are however no size restrictions, and more yarn can be added, depending on the final length your circular needles can handle.

The construction of the shawl is a symmetrical crescent shape that starts at the outside centre, and grows through adding stitches at the end of each row.

Whilst the shawl is knitted in simple garter stitch throughout, it is all about the cast-on and bind-off stitches, which need to be done carefully to give the shawl a neat appearance.

A non-stretchy bind-off is required to give the shawl its crescent shape and curly ends; the stitches added at the end of each row are worked using the slip-knot cast-on method, and need to be managed carefully to give the shawl its picot-like edges.
