Michelle of @kokonbleu contacted me in October, she is having an idea for a design and thought about me. But not much time would be left for designing, knitting, writing pattern and sending it away.
BUT in the moment I was reading she has some punk style socks in mind, I couldn’t say anymore “no”! And after seeing her mood board, it was clear I had to make them!
Honestly I am not a sock knitter and suffers hardly from the second sock syndrom, but these socks just flown from the needles. I absolutly loved to create and knit them, like no socks before. And I hope you will love to knit them too!
As Blondie was part of the mood board I choosed a song title from her as name of the socks.

Needles
Preferred needles for small circumference knitting (circular or DPN) in size needed to obtain gauge.
Sample was knit on 3.0 mm / US 2 ½ and on 3.5 mm / US 4 needles.

Notions
1 unique stitch marker for end of round

Gauge
38 sts and 38 rnds per 10cm / 4”, worked in the rnd in stockinette st on 3.5mm / 2 ½ needles, after blocking.
Changes in gauge will result in size differences and affect the amount of yarn needed to complete the project. Please take the time to check your gauge.

Construction
The socks are worked top-down from cuff to toe. The additional stitches for the calf are decreased along the leg.
These socks are knitted in a roughly style, the strands carried quite wildly at the wrongside of the work, so they show through the sts on the front side. For these socks I used the shadow wrap heel technique. This specifique technique is not explained in the pattern, so if you are not familiar with it, you can find some youtube videos online. It is also perfectly possible to use your own preferred heel technique. Both socks begin with a 1x1 ribbing for the cuff, next work the chart as mentioned.

Das gezeigte Model (Grösse 38/39) verwendete je einen Knäuel von Kokon Bleu (100% Argentinian Merino), Fingering weight je 100g (400m / 437yrds), in den Farben Speckle (MC) und Tie Dye (CC).

Nadeln
Deine bevorzugten Nadeln für das Stricken von kleinem Umfang (Rundstricknadeln oder Nadelspiel) in der Grösse passend zur Maschenprobe. Das Model wurde mit Nadeln Grösse on 3.0 mm / US 2 ½ und 3.5 mm / US 4 gestrickt.

Maschenprobe
38 M und 38 Rds per 10cm / 4”, in glatt rechts in der Runde gestrickt mit Nadel 3.5mm / 2 ½, nach leichtem Spannen. Arbeitest du mit einer anderen Maschenprobenzahl hat dies Einfluss auf die Grösse und den Wollverbrauch um das Projekt fertig zu stellen.

Konstruktion
Die Socken sind von oben nach unten vom Bund bis zu den Bandspitzen gearbeitet. Der Wadenspickel wird durch Abnahme der zusätzlichen Maschen geformt. Diese Socken werden in einem groben Jacquardstil gestrickt, die beiden Arbeitsfäden werden auf der Rückseite der Arbeit ziemlich wild und oft gekreuzt, so dass sie durch die M auf die Vorderseite durchscheinen. Für diese Socken habe ich die Shadow Wrap-Fersentechnik verwendet. Diese spezielle Technik wird in der Anleitung nicht erklärt, wenn du diese Technik nicht kennst, folge den beiden Links zu den Youtube Videos. Es ist eine einfache Technik und ergibt einen tollen Fersen ohne Zwischenrunden. Natürlich kannst du auch deine bevorzugte Fersentechnik verwenden. Beide Socken beginnen mit einem 1reM / 1liM für das Bündchen, danach wird gemäss Chart gestrickt.

Aiguilles
Vos aiguilles préférées pour le tricot à petite circonférence (circulaires ou double pointe) en taille nécessaire pour obtenir l’échantillon.
L’échantillon a été tricoté sur aiguille 3.0mm /US 2 1/2 et en 3.5mm /US 4.

1 marqueur unique pour la fin du tour, 1 aiguille à repriser.

Échantillon
38m et 38 rangs pour 10 cm / 4’’, tricotés en rond en jersey aiguilles 3 1/2 mm / 2 1/2’’, après blocage.
Les changements d’aiguilles entraineront des différences de taille et affecteront la quantité de fil pour terminer le projet. Veuillez prendre le temps de vérifier votre échantillon.

Construction
Les chaussettes sont tricotées en rond du haut vers le bas. Les mailles supplémentaires pour la formation du mollet sont diminués le long de la jambe. Ces chaussettes sont tricotées dans un style approximatif. On fait suivre le fil assez librement sur l’envers de l’ouvrage - donc ils apparaissent à travers les mailles sur le devant.
Pour ces chaussettes, j’ai utilisé la technique du talon enveloppant. Cette technique spécifique n’est pas expliquée dans le document, donc si vous ne la connaissez pas vous pouvez trouver des vidéos Youtube en ligne. Il est parfaitement possible d’utiliser votre technique de talon préférée. On commence les 2 chaussettes par des côtes 1/1 puis on travaille le tableau comme mentionné.
