This is a super easy shawl/triangular scarf that is knitted in garter stitch with fingering weight yarn held together with lace weight yarn. Because of the easy construction this pattern is free.

This is the pattern I have used when I’ve been testing how to write a pattern that feels right for me to publish.

I knitted the prototype a few years ago when I needed something easy between the more complicated projects. The shawl was used almost every day last winter. When I have the time, I will knit one more with a base color in thin merino and a dip dye effect using leftover mohair.

The only techniques that’s required are:

• long tail cast on
• edge stitch
• knit
• increase left
• regular bind off

Everyone can knit this shawl, even the knitter to be that hasn’t touched a needle yet. The most difficult part about it is the size, 3 skeins of fingering weight merino is over 600 m of yarn.
