ABOUT THE PATTERN:
This cardigan begins with a provisional cast-on at the shoulders, but the pattern offers an alternative construction option; in both cases, no sewing is required. The body is worked flat, and the sleeves are worked in the round. The shoulders feature a ribbed design, while the body is adorned with a scale-like pattern with slip stitches, cables, purls, and knits. Some scales are embellished with beads for an extra touch of sparkle. However, if desired, you can omit the beads and embroider them with duplicate stitches. The pattern provides an approximate amount of beads, but you can adjust it to your liking. With detailed instructions and complementary videos, you will achieve this unique piece in your wardrobe. You can practice using my ‘Only Scales Cowl’ pattern; by the end, you’ll master scales perfectly.

You can replace them with Miyuki Delica 8/0 beads, and you’ll use fewer grams, or you can use different colors. Keep in mind that 42 beads are used per scale.

PATTERN NOTES
Note 1: The total grams of beads needed will vary according to their size.
Note 2: Before starting your project, make a swatch to ensure you
are getting gauge and that your vest will come to the correct final measurements. If you have more stitches per inch than indicated, your tension is tighter, and you must go up a needle size or two. If you have fewer stitches per inch than indicated, your tension is looser, and you need to go down a needle size or two.
If you changed the size of your main needles to obtain a gauge, you would also have to change the needles sizes of your ribbing needles to 1 size smaller, respectively.
Note 3: You can make this without beads using the duplicate stitch. To achieve this, knit the pattern similarly, but when the pattern tells you HB, you have to knit this stitch. Once finished, embroider with a duplicated stitch in the areas indicated by the chart where the beads would be placed, with a contrasting color.

ACERCA DEL PATRÓN
Este cárdigan comienza con un montaje provisional en los hombros, pero el patrón también ofrece una opción alternativa de construcción, en ambas no se requiere coser nada, el cuerpo se teje en plano y las mangas en circular. Los hombros presentan un diseño de punto elástico, mientras que el cuerpo está adornado con un diseño similar a escamas creado con puntos deslizados, trenzas, puntos revés y puntos derechos. Algunas escamas están decoradas con mostacillas para un toque extra de brillo. Sin embargo, puedes optar por omitir las mostacillas y luego bordarlas con punto duplicado si lo deseas. El patrón proporciona una cantidad aproximada de mostacillas a utilizar, pero tienes la flexibilidad de ajustarla según tu gusto. NOTAS DEL PATRÓN
Nota 1: El total de gramos de mostacillas necesarias variará según su tamaño.

Nota 2: Antes de comenzar tu proyecto, haz una muestra para asegurarte de obtener la medida de calibre y que tu chaleco tenga las medidas finales correctas. Si tienes más puntos por pulgada de los indicados, tu tensión es más ajustada y debes usar una aguja de uno o dos tamaños más grande. Si tienes menos puntos por pulgada de los indicados, tu tensión es más suelta y necesitas usar una aguja de uno o dos tamaños más pequeños.
Si cambiaste el tamaño de tus agujas principales para obtener la medida de calibre, también tendrías que cambiar el tamaño de las agujas punto elástico, una talla más pequeña, respectivamente.

Nota 3: Puedes hacer esto sin mostacillas utilizando el punto duplicado. Para lograrlo, teje el patrón de manera similar, pero cuando el patrón te indique CM, debes tejer este punto. Una vez terminado, borda con punto duplicado en las áreas indicadas por el gráfico donde se colocarían las mostacillas, con un color contrastante.
