I love Opals, don’t you? Little flecks of shocking color in a hazy background of pretty that dazzles the eye? YUM.

I love painting all the opal colorways; Blue Opals and Black Opals and Sea Opals and Fire Opals with little flashes of light and color. the perfect design challenge: two weddings to go to this summer, in Vermont, so it’s chilly at night, and two sleeveless bridesmaid’s dresses, one bright turquoise, and the other bright red. FUN.

I chose absolutely the softest yarns out there ~ alpaca, silk and cashmere for next to skin luxury, and a silky single ply to show off brilliant little flecks of color.

A Bridesmaid’s Tale is perfect for Knit Night ~ easy to memorize 4 row repeat worked with just one color per row, with thoughtful details like an anti-roll selvedge and built in reinforced stitches along the vulnerable length.
