OPEN HANDS OPEN HEARTS SOCKS

I designed these socks for Treasure Chest YGC’s October 2021 fundraiser for Breast Cancer Care. All proceeds from the sale of this pattern in October 2021 will go to the charity. Let’s help them raise some valuable funds.

Treasure Chest is a charity that helps support the amazing work taking place in Glan Clwyd Hospital in North Wales. They support patients had/having surgery or treatment for Breast Cancer.

The charity was set up over 28 years ago by breast cancer survivors as well as their family and friends. Money raised up to now is around £250,000 and counting. They’ve funded all kinds of things from a mammogram chair for X-Ray, lymphedema machines, a nipple tattooing machine & for the breast nurses to be trained to carry this out. Most recently they’ve given £20,000 towards a digital mammography which is a better screening tool for younger people, people with dense breast tissue or peri menopausal.
