Open Hearts Shawl
Valentine’s Day is all about love, right? Love can come in many forms, including love for a parent, a friend, or a complete stranger. This is a great shawl to make as a donation to charity. It reminds us to have an open heart toward others, no matter who they are.
This is a 7-row repeat. It is quite easy to remember once you get the beginning rows established. You can use any size yarn for this shawl. With filet work, I will often go down a size or two from the recommended hook. I have chosen to use lightweight #3 yarn. I did 6 rows of hearts. My finished shawl is 69” across the top and 21” tall at the center point.
Supplies:
- 550-600 yards of #3 weight yarn. I used about 560 yards of Bernat Softee Baby.
- 3.5mm hook
Skill Level: Intermediate
Gauge: 17 st wide and 8 rows in a 4”x4” square (double crochet)
