This quick and fun washcloth is based on the “openwork hourglass” pattern, which made me think of happy hour, opening day, and other fun (but potentially grimy) occasions. Thus, the inspiration for a way to get clean! What I couldn’t tell from the original stitch pattern is the wonderful texture that this cloth would have. The knit-stitch sides of each hourglass stand out against the purl insides, giving the cloth a nice ripple feel on the front - and reminding me of fish scales on the reverse!

Gauge: Not particularly important.
