To celebrate Perseverance landing on Mars I am sharing another Mars Rover pattern! This time it’s Opportunity - or Spirit, the two rovers have the exact same design.

With a 2.5mm hook and DK yarn, Opportunity is 16cm high, the perfect size for a desk companion.

The pattern includes written instructions as well as lots of photographs to help you construct your very own Mars Rover.

Opportunity is made by crocheting sections individually and then stitching them together so there is a lot of stitching involved! I have included a step by step photo tutorial for the stitching needed.

This pattern is best suited to someone who is confident in their crafting skills.

Please note, over time, the weight of the rover has meant that the wheels are not able to hold it up, so I have a small jewellery box as a stand for Opportunity to give them a little bit of extra support!
