This is a pattern for a Diamond Opt Art designed double knit potholder. The Pot Holder is flat, but gives the illusion of the diamond popping out.

Be forewarned: It is a tad more tedious of a design follow, but the high design density creates one a very sturdy knit pot holder.

The double knitting creates a double thick fabric which is good for protecting hands and counters.

Each side is worked stockinette stitch on both sides, so it is reversible with the back side being an inverse of the colors on the front side. It includes my own method for cast-off which creates a solid unified looking edge.

Solid colors will make the optical Art illusion standout better, but the ombre is fun too. . The pattern comes with other color options. Also, there are blank coloring charts included with the pattern to help you select colors for your own unique design of your potholder.

• 2 Color Charts - One for each side (while knitting even & odd rows)
• 2 Uncolored charts of the rooster design to test out your own color combinations with color pencils or to ‘print screen’ and paste into Microsoft paint to pour color into the squares.

The yarn requirement for each color is 50 - 55 yards for each color when knit to gauge. Add more yardage if you double knit on the loose side.
