Optimism Pessimism
I love shawls and scarves that have really long ends dangling at the front. I feel like they are easier to wear and they stay in place better this way. However, when you only have one skein, it can be hard to obtain the adequate length without giving up on depth.
With this shawlette, I cheated by adding i-cords at each end. They use very little yarn, and they give me the dangly bits that I like. Not only that, but the i-cords can also be used to tie the shawl around the neck, to serve as a neckwarmer or cowl as needed.
I used two 50 g balls of Knitting for Olive Merino in Petroleum Green. This shawl is a quick and easy knit, and it will be perfect for your single skeins or that one precious yarn you keep in your stash. Or you could mix up leftovers! The i-cord edging around the shawlette is great to hide all your ends withouth having to weave them in!
