Opulence is a hat that can be worn either as a beanie or as a tam. Its three-dimensional segments look extra spectacular when they are worked in different colours, but due to its unusual shape, the hat also looks stunning in one single colourway. Opulence is worked bottom-up in one piece using intarsia in-the-round if you opt for the multi-coloured version. A folded hem contrasts the opulent crown.

The following techniques are used in this pattern:

  • crochet provisional cast-on
  • knitting in the round (the pattern is written for working on one pair of circular needles and magic loop)
  • decreasing
  • increasing
  • slipped stitches
  • intarsia in-the-round (optional)

You will need approximately 28 (35, 43, 51, 60, 71) g of yarn in MC and 21 (27, 34, 42, 50, 60) g of yarn in CC.

The pattern includes instructions for an intarsia version as well as for a plain version without the colourwork. Please note that the intarsia version is an advanced pattern.
