Opurse 53 - Sequence Study
This introductory study of sequence knitting was written for a MKAL for the Mystery 220 (more or less) group for October, 2023.
Having just finished reading and rereading Cecelia Campochiaro’s excellent book, Sequence Knitting: Simple Methods for Creating Complex Reversible Fabrics,
I wanted to write a mystery pattern that would incorporate some of the knowledge gained from the book. I also wanted the final project to remain a mystery until the end. The magic of the folding to produce a Bento bag kept participants guessing until the last clue. Missions accomplished.
If this pattern piques your interest, please consider getting a copy of Cecelia’s book. It’s filled with infinite knitting texture possibilities. She has organized this information in such a way that you will be expertly led on a fantastic knitting voyage.
You can knit this pattern with any weight yarn, but knit at a slightly dense gauge. My sample used 100 grams of worsted with size 6 needles. I knit an Aran sample with size 8 needles and it used about 120 grams of yarn.
You may choose to knit with 1, 2, 3, or 4 colors. Solids will show the texture patterns best.
