Opus 1201
Slouch beret in DK, with cable headband. It can be made with self-striped yarn, a scrap-ball/scrap-skein, or plain yarn. The pattern includes instructions for making a multicoloured scrap ball with Russian joins. The pattern includes a slightly slouchy and a fully slouchy version.
Sizes
The headband in all versions is infinitely adjustable for fit. The slightly slouchy version is in three teen or adult sizes, S, M and L, and has a stockinet crown. The fully slouchy version is in one size for all teens and adults, and has a scrunchy cable stitch pattern around the sides of the crown.

Circumference of unstretched headband as per pattern: 17, 18, 19in/43, 46, 48.5cm) – though it can be extended to fit any size. Circumference of unstretched sides of hat: 25, 26, 27in/63, 66, 69cm)
Requirements
- Yarn: 100g (310yd/282m) of any DK or 8 ply yarn. Scrap of slippery spare yarn for provisional cast-on
- Needles: circulars or dpns: metric size 4mm, US size 6, UK/Canada size 8. Extra ndl for 3-ndl cast-off/bind-off.
- Cable needle, 8 stitch markers incl one different-coloured for beginnng of row
- Three small buttons (optional)
