This is a top-down sock with a traditional heel flap. It is worked using magic loop; N1 will be front of foot/instep/leg, and N2 will be back of foot/leg and heel.

I designed these socks because my daughter wanted a DK weight pair of socks with cables on them. The original sock set I used was a Christmas Eve cast on set from Woolberry Fiber Co. So, I thought making something look like ornaments or orbs would play nicely with the light specking of the yarn.

There is a cable that runs down the outer leg of each sock, so there is a left sock and a right sock. The cable pattern is both written and charted. This cable works well without a cable needle, see tutorial below to try it out.
