Orb Weaver's Shawl
This pattern was originally published as Weird Sisters’ contribution to the 2024 Rose City Yarn Crawl, March 7-10, 2024 in Portland, Oregon. This pattern is currently available for download as part of the 2024 Pattern Collection: Pacific Northwest Flora & Fauna ebook or as an individual pattern from Weird Sisters.
The Orb Weaver’s Shawl is inspired by the flora and fauna of the Pacific Northwest, specifically the beautiful variety of orb weavers and the native maidenhair fern found there. This shawl features sections of garter stitch that border lace eyelets reminiscent of a delicate spider’s web, finished with an edging of ripple lace of gentle fern fronds. The combination of smooth DK yarn and fluffy lace weight yarn is a celebration of the ever changing colors and textures of the PNW landscape.
