This includes two intarsia charts to add an orca motif to your knitted projects! This does not include a pattern for a fully finished garment, but recommended free patterns are provided. This can also be used to make a scarf, hat, etc! Anything that your gauge/stitch size will accommodate and fit.

The sample sweater was knit using KnitPicks Brava Sport in black, white, and denim. It was knit on a Toyota KS901/KR501 knitting machine with an intarsia carriage and using the recommended pattern gauge. It fits roughly an adult large with a drop shoulder seamed construction.

Insert this chart into your project! Be sure to adjust the row numbers to match your pattern of choice. If you are machine knitting, remember that you are looking at the back of the garment. If you follow the chart as written, the design will face the opposite direction on the finished piece.

Be sure to do a gauge swatch and make sure that your item has enough stitches to fit this chart.

I highly recommend using Tin Can Knit’s Flax Sweater (https://tincanknits.com/pattern/flax) to make this as a garment. As you are knitting the body, work this chart into the body of the sweater. Be sure to check your stitch count & rows to get proper placement.

For machine knitting, you can use Infinite Loop Knitting’s pullover pattern generator (http://bikibird.com/php/sweater/Sweater1.php?sub=Start) to get a custom pattern for your size, gauge, and insert the chart into the body.
