The Oregon Trail was a 2,170-mile wagon route to the west. The Oregon Trail and its many offshoots were used by about 400,000 settlers and their families. The trail crossed prairies, rivers, and mountain ranges including the rugged Rockies and Cascades. Needless to say, the trip was fraught with hardship and many did not survive. The wagon wheel ruts are still visible today.
Easy cables, lace and texture all in one relaxed sweater depicting aspects of the Oregon Trail. The cable and lace detail at the raglan seams (on both front and back) extends down into the body and meets at the sides.
Optional periodic rounds of purl stitches add texture to the body. Sleeves are worked straight in stockinette stitch and flow into long ribbed cuffs.
The neckline is wide and raised in the back with short rows. Options are included for 2x2 ribbed funnel or cowl neckline, and the hem and cuffs are finished in 2x2 ribbing. Short rows add a bit of length to the back for more comfortable wearing.
Construction is top-down and seamless so it can be tried on for fit as you go and for the length you desire.
Sizing is unisex and inclusive with intended ease of 6-8 inches / 15-20 cm at chest.
