Organised Project Basket
Do you find that you lose your scissors, stitch markers or row counters underneath the yarn in your project basket as you are crocheting a project? I often do this, and I end up fishing around in the base of the basket trying to find my tools. Here is a solution for that issue – an organised crochet project basket! This idea came from my 12 year old daughter Hannah, after she saw that I was designing a basket, she suggested to add some pockets for holding all our crochet tools in place – what a great idea! Hope you enjoy creating this one as much as I enjoyed designing it!
Yarn Used for sample was held double:
Fibra Natura Luxor,
Fine #2 sport weight/ 4-5 ply yarn, 4 skeins of one colour.
Other suitable alternatives:
Scheepjes Catona,
Yarn & Colours Must-Have Cotton
Schachenmayr Catania
Katia Capri
Kartopu Organica
Similar 100% cotton in a Light #3 DK yarn would also work quite well with this pattern. Or you could try using a single strand of a 10ply/Aran weight yarn with a suitable hook size. Experiment and see what you like the look of.
Finished size when using suggested yarn:
Diameter: 20 cm (7 3/4 in)
Height: 9 cm (3 1/2 in)
This pattern is worked in closed rounds, from the base up, the main basket being worked in one piece. A separate pocket insert is crocheted and attached to the top half of the fabric. The top half of the fabric is then folded inside the basket and sewn in place.
This pattern is available in English in both US & UK versions.
