Organza
I am so pleased to release this tested pattern.
With its lovely, lace-patterned sleeves, its well-shaped neck and shoulder, and soft lines, this sweater is something extra.
Sizes
Finished chest measurements, worked at gauge:
35/37.5/40.5/43.5/47.5/50/52.5/55.5”. The sweater is designed to have comfortable is. I recommend approximately 10 – 15 cm/4 – 6” of positive ease.
The sample is worked in size 2, with approximately 15 cm/6” ease.
Materials
The sweater is worked using 2 yarns held together: Yarn 1: 975/1050/1175/1275/1350/1425/1575/1675 m = 1065/1150/1280/1390/175/1555/1720/1825 yards of Saga (colour-way 101), a lace-weight yarn of 100% lambswool from Filcolana. Yarn 2: 975/1050/1175/1275/1350/1425/1575/1675 m = 1065/1150/1280/1390/175/1555/1720/1825 yards of Tilia (colour-way 100), a lace-weight yarn of 70% mohair/30% silk from Filcolana. Needles: Size 3 mm/US2.5 for the ribbing.
Size 4 mm/US6 for the lace-section and stockinette sts.
Gauge
21 sts and 28 rows/rounds in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”
Construction
The sleeves are worked bottom-up and in-the-round.
The body is worked top-down, starting from the upper back, followed by the upper front (worked from picked-up sts of the shoulders of the upper back). At underarms the upper back and front are joined and the lower body is worked in-the-round to bind-off.
The neckline is worked as an i-cord, from picked-up and knit sts.
The sleeves are attached to the body, either by a 3-needle bind-off, or by seaming.
The pattern
The pattern is tested (list of testers further down).
The lace of the sleeves is written out round-by-round, as well as charted.
There is a schematic.
All measurements are given in cm’s, as well as in inches.
