Ori (and the Blind Forest)
Ori and the Blind Forest is a platform-adventure developed by Moon Studios and published by Microsoft Studios. And although I’m not much of a gamer, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing this game, because it’s beautifully designed, the framework is breathtaking and Ori is just adorable! When I first started playing the game in 2015 there was no Ori merchandise, therefore I decided to design my own knitted version of Ori.
If you enjoyed playing “Ori and the Blind Forest” as much as I did, you’ll probably want your own Ori-figure, to cheer you on as you play the upcoming sequel ‘Ori and the Will of the Wisps’. And knitting it will be as much fun as playing the game!
In this case Ori has been knitted with a fleece yarn - Lana Grossa Baby Soft (01) white (wh) - and 2 mm double pointed sock needles (UK 14, US 0) with a length of 10 cm. A ball of 50 grams (150 m) will be enough to finish your knit. The fleece gives Ori a smooth and fine-textured appearance. Pipe cleaners were used to consolidate Ori. The extra-long tail makes Ori stand up!
This project is an advanced knit, but if you’ve mastered knitting in the round and short rows and follow the pattern step by step, you’ll be able the finish it without any frustration.
Skills:
Knitting in the round
Short rows
Pocket style knitting (optional and tutorial included)
This model measures 20 cm from head to feet.
