For the Oriental Mosaic blanket, as the name suggests, the mosaic technique is used. Even though mosaic crochet looks very complicated, it certainly isn’t that complicated. Actually, it’s a surprisingly easy way to create colorful patterns.

A mosaic pattern consists only of single crochets and double crochets. For the edge, slip stitches and half double crochets are added. Sounds simple right!?

With this mosaic pattern all rows are worked from right to left. And attach a new thread every round. And above all, don’t be afraid of all the threads to show up. These are concealed at the end between a double edge.

The blanket I crochet is approximately 85 x 120 cm. The pattern clearly describes how to adjust this to any desired size.

My blanket is crocheted with Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6 (100% cotton) and hooksize 4 and 3,5 mm. But can of course be crocheted with any desired yarn.

After payment, the pattern can be downloaded in both Dutch (NL) and English (US).

Voor de Oriental Mosaic deken wordt, zoals de naam het al zegt, de mozaïek techniek gebruikt. Ook al ziet mozaïek haken er heel ingewikkeld uit, dat is het zeker niet. Eigenlijk is het een verrassend eenvoudige manier om kleurrijke patronen te maken met meerdere kleuren.

Een mozaïek patroon bestaat alleen uit vasten en stokjes. Voor de rand worden daar halve vasten en halve stokjes aan toegevoegd. Klinkt simpel toch!?

Bij deze deken worden alle toeren van rechts naar links gehaakt. En hecht je iedere toer een nieuw draad aan. Er ontstaan zo geen vervelende lussen aan de achterkant van de deken. En wees vooral niet bang voor de hoeveelheid draadjes die je ziet ontstaan. Die worden aan het einde weggewerkt tussen een dubbele rand.

Is mozaïek haken en dubbele randen nieuw voor je? Geen nood. Bij dit patroon vind je een foto tutorial waarin stap voor stap de mozaïek techniek wordt uitgelegd.

Het dekentje dat ik haakte is circa 85 x 120 cm. In het patroon staat duidelijk beschreven hoe dit naar ieder gewenst formaat aan te passen.

Mijn deken is gehaakt met Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6 (100% katoen) en haaknaald 4 en 3,5 mm. Maar is natuurlijk te haken met ieder gewenst garen.

Na betaling is het patroon zowel in het Nederlands (NL) als het Engels (US) te downloaden.
