Oriflamme Shawl

Oriflamme: a principle or ideal that serves as a rallying point in a struggle.
From Latin aurum ‘gold’ + flamma ‘flame.’

Visual movement, color and textural depth create an overall rippling banner look. (To me the individual reps look wing or fin like.)

4 colors = 3 color stripes rotate at the half reps with unifying ‘Flash-Stripe’ color through each.

Written line by line (abbreviated) instructions and Chart.

Worked flat. Long ways.

Intermediate Skills: Lace Stitches with R & WS work.

Blocking Required.

Notes

Size adjustments: Multiple 10 + 5
(2 garter each edge, 1 symmetry)

To maximize/increase dimensional effect:
Snug decreases.
Use round firmly plied yarn.
The tighter stitches the more dimension will be retained after blocking.
