Oriole is a seamless, top-down cardigan that can be worn open or closed with a shawl pin. Business or casual, Oriole can be worn for many different occasions.

The yoke is worked from the top using a combination of a contiguous-sleeve and a round yoke methods. The body includes subtle waist shaping. After the body of the cardigan is finished, the lace border is picked up along the entire neck edge and worked with a larger needle. To avoid the lace from curling on itself, a knit lining is knitted and turned toward the inside to provide structure. The sleeves are also knit from the top. The shoulder cap of each sleeve is shaped via short rows (no wrapping necessary!), then the sleeves are knit in the round down to the cuffs.

Difficulty
Intermediate: This pattern is knit using a combination of the contiguous and round yoke methods, increases are required on the reverse side of the fabric. The sleeves are knit from the top-down for a set-in look, this requires “decrease” short rows to form the sleeve cap.

US Size 6 (4.0 mm) circular needle (or size needed to achieve gauge) for body, sleeves and lace lining; US Size 8 (5.0 mm) circular needle for neck lace border; US Size 2 (2.75 mm) circular needle for picking up sleeve stitches and working sleeve cap.

Oriole ist eine nahtlose Strickjacke, die entweder offen oder mit einer Tuchnadel vorne befestigt, getragen werden kann. Im Büro oder leger, Oriole ist das passende Kleidungsstück für viele Gelegenheiten.
Diese Strickjacke wird von oben nach unten gestrickt. Die Passe wird von oben her durch eine Kombination der „Contiguous“ und „Round Yoke“ Methoden gearbeitet. Der Körper enthält eine subtile Taillenformung. Nachdem der Körper fertig gestrickt wurde, werden die Maschen für den Spitzenbund um den Hals herum mit einer größeren Nadel aufgenommen und gestrickt. Um das Einrollen des Bunds zu verhindern, gibt es für die Stabilität einen gestrickten Beleg. Die Schulterkappen sind durch Abnahmen und verkürzte Reihen geformt. Danach werden die Ärmel in Runden von der Schulter Richtung Bündchen gestrickt.
