This long wingspan shawl features two distinct knitting patterns. The focal stitch is a true lace, and the edging is a famous one from the Shetland Islands. Together they make a beautiful shawl. The very wide wingspan allows you to wear it in a variety of ways.

The shawl measures 68 inches at the widest points across the top and is 28 inches deep at the deepest point. It is made with a heavier of the fingering weight yarns, and is knit on size 5 (U.S.) (3.75mm) needles. The shawl requires approximately 1000 yards of yarn making it both a perfect four season lace shawl.

The stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

The shawl was expertly test knitted by: Teddi Sherrill who can be reached at tms808@ gmail.com, and was knit using Handmaiden’s Casbah yarn in colorway, Wine.
