I found a few balls of this vintage, acrylic multi-coloured yarn at a local thrift store. It’s a darker colour change than I usually find, but I still wanted to make it into something lovely. Even if the cables are a bit subdued by this colour, they are still fun to knit and can stand out in their own muted way.

The cable motif on this cowl look like knots on the trunk of a tree, so I called this Ostas, which is Old English for “tree knot”.
